Referral/Surgery Coordinator For General Surgery
Under general direction, coordinates referral requests and communication of appointments using general clerical and customer service skills including, but not limited to, maintaining the surgery schedule for general surgeons, organizing requests from multiple providers, obtaining pre-authorizations, and communicating status of appointments and authorizations to patients and providers alike.
As a Referral/Surgery Coordinator for General Surgery employee will:
- Schedule patient appointments, procedures, testing, and surgeries both in person and over the phone.
- Work collaboratively with departments such as Surgery Scheduling, Endoscopy, Radiology, etc.
- Ensure patient medical records are updated accurately and promptly.
- Communicate scheduling details clearly with patients, providers, and authorization team.
- Obtain insurance authorizations for procedures and services done in office.
- Perform additional administrative and clerical duties to support the practice.
