About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Oncology Chemo Certified Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: NC or Compact license in hand Certifications: BLS, PALS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), APHON Must-Have: Previous charge experience, Patient ratio experience, Charting system experience Description: Targeted start date is 10/5. Minimum of 1 year of experience is required. Certifications required: BLS, PALS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), APHON. Skills required include accessing and managing ports, administration of chemotherapy, and pediatric oncology expertise. Care for pediatric oncology patients, including those needing stem cell transplant and cellular therapy. Experience with high-risk hematologic malignancies and brain tumors is necessary. Daily census in the unit is approximately 16 patients. The unit caters to a diverse patient population including adolescents, infants, and children. Key responsibilities include monitoring chemotherapy, patient and family education, and infusion management. Team collaboration with various interdisciplinary support services is essential. Candidates must be prepared to handle emergencies and complex patient scenarios. All required certifications must be in hand at the time of submission. Candidates must provide a supervisory reference within the last year. Absences during the contract are capped at three. Attendance will be monitored, with strict policies in place regarding tardiness and no-shows.
