The organization operates 24/7, providing a safe haven for hundreds of survivors each year, along with thousands of crisis hotline responses and support services. A dedicated, trauma‑informed team offers counseling, crisis intervention, court advocacy, educational programs, support groups, children’s activities, and parenting workshops. True North’s mission is to empower individuals to build safer lives through safety, shelter, education, and transitional support, with a vision of a community free from interpersonal violence where healthy relationships thrive. Role Description This is a full‑time, hybrid Attorney role based in Columbia, MO. The Attorney will provide legal advice and representation to survivors of intimate partner domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and stalking, with a focus on civil legal needs such as orders of protection, family law matters, housing, and related issues. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include conducting client intakes, assessing legal needs, developing case strategies, preparing and reviewing legal documents, and representing clients in court or administrative proceedings as appropriate. The Attorney will collaborate closely with advocates, counselors, and other staff to ensure coordinated, trauma‑informed support, and may also deliver legal education to clients, staff, and community partners. Additional duties include maintaining accurate case files, staying current on relevant laws and regulations, and participating in policy or systems advocacy efforts that align with True North’s mission. #J-18808-Ljbffr True North of Columbia Inc.
