Location: Torrance


Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 (depending on skills and experience)


Work Schedule: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (1-hour lunch break)


Commute: Hybrid (Onsite 2 days a week. Temporarily 4 days a week during probational period)


Our client, a mid-sized accounting firm offering a hybrid work environment and exposure to a wide range of accounting functions including bookkeeping, financial reporting, attestation, and tax.


The role supports multiple client engagements simultaneously, making it ideal for candidates looking to develop well-rounded accounting skills in a client-facing environment. The firm emphasizes professional growth and offers potential visa support in accordance with internal policies.

Key Responsibilities


Bookkeeping & Daily Accounting Operations

• Perform data entry, AR/AP processing (invoicing, payments, collections)
• Handle expense reimbursements, check runs, and journal entries

Closing & Financial Reporting

• Support monthly and year-end closing (journal entries, bank reconciliations, subledgers)
• Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement) and client-specific reports
• Assist in preparing reporting packages for headquarters

Client & Audit Support

• Assist clients with audit requests from external auditors
• Manage multiple client engagements and maintain communication

Tax & Compliance

• Prepare and process miscellaneous tax filings (sales & use tax, property tax, informational returns)
• Support individual and corporate tax return preparation

Attestation Services

• Perform financial statement reviews and compilations

Qualifications

• Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, attestation, or tax (corporate/individual)
• Public accounting experience (CPA firm or outsourcing firm) is a strong plus
• Accounting degree preferred
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification is a strong plus
• Strong communication and project management skills
• Ability to handle multiple clients simultaneously
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Sage, or ERP systems preferred
• Japanese language skills are a plus but not required
