AP Manager

Kforce's client, a large growing manufacturing company with operations across multiple locations, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager in Grand Rapids, MI to lead and optimize its Accounts Payable function. This leadership role will oversee a small team, ensure accurate and timely payment processing, and drive continuous improvement across a complex, multi-site environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys building efficient processes, partnering with business leaders, and supporting a high-volume AP operation.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a small accounts payable team
• Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process across multiple business units and locations
• Oversee high-volume invoice processing, payment execution, and vendor account management
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end close activities related to accounts payable
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure policy compliance across locations
• Work closely with Operations, Purchasing, and Finance teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Monitor AP aging, identify trends, and resolve escalated vendor issues
• Support audits and assist with financial reporting requirements
• Drive process improvements, standardization efforts, and automation initiatives
• Develop and track AP performance metrics to support operational excellence

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required
• 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience
• Prior leadership experience managing or supervising staff
• ERP system experience required
• Strong understanding of AP controls, processes, and best practices
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or multi-location organization preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
