About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief of Staff for its Advanced Optics Technology Portfolio. This strategic role is pivotal in connecting development projects to business priorities, budget planning, staffing needs, and leadership decisions. The successful candidate will serve as a key partner to the Business Technology Director, helping to translate business and technology priorities into an effective operating rhythm. Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining a forward-looking cadence for various leadership forums, preparing and communicating essential materials for discussions and reviews, and leading the portfolio operating cadence to ensure alignment with near- and long-term business priorities. The role also involves supporting the BTD in organizational planning, hiring strategy, and executive communications, as well as leading or supporting special projects to enhance portfolio governance and organizational effectiveness. Applicants for this role at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, operations, finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years' of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in materials, optics, physics, or a related technical area, and experience in a high-tech, manufacturing, engineering, research, or technology-driven environment. Technical fluency, experience in budget tracking and forecasting, and the ability to analyze technical and business information to make clear recommendations are essential. The role requires clear communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with senior leaders and varied stakeholder groups. A Master's degree and people management experience are preferred.
