What You ll Do

• Provide independent psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans for behavioral health patients
• Prescribe and monitor pharmacological therapies in collaboration with the medical team
• Educate patients and families about medication management and overall mental health
• Order, review, and interpret lab work and diagnostic data
• Maintain accurate and complete patient records in electronic health systems
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Advocate for patients mental health needs and serve as a resource for staff and community agencies

What You Need
Required:

• Valid Iowa RN and APRN licenses
• Certified as a clinical specialist or Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or an accepted certifying body
• Minimum 3 years of relevant clinical experience in mental health or behavioral health
• Strong assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team

Preferred:

• Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Knowledge of Iowa mental health laws and managed care practices
