Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) with Charge Nurse experience is responsible for overseeing patient care in a high-risk obstetric unit, managing daily operations, and providing skilled nursing care. This role involves coordinating care in OB Triage, Labor and Delivery, Antepartum, and related areas while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The RN ensures patient safety and quality care in a fast-paced acute hospital environment, supporting an average of 7 to 14 deliveries daily. Strong leadership, clinical expertise, and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

Required Skills & Certifications:

Active Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand.
Minimum of 1 year nursing experience; Charge Nurse experience required.
BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, and NRP certifications.
Strong clinical skills in obstetrics, labor and delivery, and high-risk antepartum care.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience working in Magnet designated hospitals or Level II Trauma centers.
Familiarity with Epic electronic health records system.
Previous experience in teaching or academic hospital settings.

Special Considerations:

No on-call requirement.
Weekend work required every other weekend.
May float within scope to similar units if needed.
Time off requests are approved individually upon offer; all must be included in submittal.
Auto offer contingent on having Alaska RN license in hand.
Travelers can be called off for one 12-hour shift per two weeks.
Must be located at least 50 miles from facility to qualify as a traveler.

Scheduling:

13 or 26 week assignments starting ASAP.
Shift options: 3x12 or 4x12 hour night shifts.
Block scheduling is not accommodated.
Guaranteed 60 hours per two-week pay period.
