FITNESS SALES ASSOCIATE/PRESALES SPECIALIST D1 Training Westborough · Reports to General Manager · Hourly, Part-Time (up to 30 hrs/week)



 

We already have the leads. We need a closer to join the team. If you have not done outbound calls with daily volume of 75+ calls a day and do not know your close rate on connections, this job isn't for you!

D1 Training Westborough is opening this fall. We're deep into presales with an active pipeline, referrals, community outreach, digital leads, and real connections already in motion. What we need is a closer who can consistently turn those phone conversations into signed founding members.

This role is 100% focused on presales right now: making calls, running the sales conversation, updating the CRM, closing founding memberships, and representing D1 in person at local outreach events, so while the bulk of the work is remote today, this isn't a fully remote role, we need someone based in or near MetroWest . 
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY BE DOING:

• Your main job: Executing outbound calls, texts, and emails to close founding memberships. That is your primary metric.
• Running the full sales conversation start to finish: discovery, pitch, objection handling, close, no handoff to someone else
• Hitting daily call volume and close-rate targets, tracked and reviewed every pay period
• Following up relentlessly, most closes don't happen on the first call
• Working with direction and coaching from our General Manager, while also comfortable managing your own call block independently
• At times, supporting community outreach, tenting, and tabling events at the GM's direction, both to close deals in person and to help fill the funnel

PAY STRUCTURE Hourly base: $16.50–$20/hour, based on experience

• Uncapped commission on every closed founding membership you process, on top of your hourly pay
• Commission tiers based on your total closed founding memberships per pay period
  • The rate for the tier you land in applies to every close in that pay period, not just closes above the previous threshold. 
• There's no cap- the more you close, the more you earn, every pay period.
• Additional bonus opportunity tied to hitting our founding membership goal by opening. 

WHERE THIS ROLE CAN GO

• This is a presales role today, and the primary focus right now. But there's a real path forward for the right performer. Once D1 Westborough opens, there's an opportunity for this role to transition into in-facility sales, selling our full range of programs including high-ticket personal training packages. This transition is performance-based, not automatic, and earned through demonstrated closing ability during presales.

THIS IS A FIT IF YOU

• Have real sales experience and can point to numbers, not just activity, that prove it
• Comfortable working a mix of lead temperatures
• Energized by occasional in-person community outreach like tabling and tenting.
• Believe in following up 20–30+ times without losing energy or conviction
• Treat “I need to think about it” as the start of the real conversation, not the end of the call
• Want to be evaluated on close rate, not hours logged
• Can take direction when needed, but don't need to be managed step by step to stay productive

THIS IS NOT A FIT IF YOU

• Get discouraged after a few rejections in a row
• Prefer inbound-only or administrative work
• Are looking for a role where someone else closes what you set up
• Can't tell us, specifically, about a deal you closed after multiple objections

HONEST REALITY CHECK

The facility is still under construction. You won't be walking prospects through a finished space or running an in-person tour on day one, this is phone- and relationship-driven sales during presales. If you need a shiny built-out space to sell the vision, this isn't the stage of the business to join. If you can sell what's coming and close on belief in what's being built, this is exactly the stage to join.
