Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using a mix of standardized assessments and observational insights.
- Create customized treatment plans tailored to meet both short-term and enduring communication, cognitive, and swallowing objectives.
- Facilitate individual speech therapy sessions concentrating on aspects like fluency, language, voice, and swallowing.
- Work cooperatively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapists and nurses, to develop holistic care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and families to enhance progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
- Document patient progress meticulously in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing education, keeping abreast of progressive methodologies and peer practices.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications
- State licensing as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preference for a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within 30 days of starting.
