About the Role

You’ll be the first voice candidates and clients hear when they call DSS, and the person who makes sure everything behind the scenes is done right. You’ll handle the front desk, onboarding paperwork, compliance, and recordkeeping, and you’ll support our recruiters with screening and scheduling. It’s a great entry point into the staffing industry, with room to learn the recruiting side as you grow. 

What You'll Do

• Answer and route incoming calls, greet walk-in candidates, and serve as a friendly, reliable first point of contact.

• Guide new associates through onboarding: applications, new-hire paperwork, and system entry.

• Manage compliance every step of the way: I-9s, E-Verify, background checks, drug screens, and complete, audit-ready files.

• Keep personnel records, timecards, and CRM/ATS data accurate and up to date.

• Support weekly payroll processing by collecting and verifying hours.

• Help recruiters by posting jobs, pre-screening applicants by phone, scheduling interviews, and following up with candidates.

• Confirm start times and assignment details with associates so every placement begins on the right foot.

What You Bring

• A high school diploma or equivalent. Some college or office experience is a plus.

• Experience in customer service, reception, administrative work, or another fast-paced environment. Staffing experience is a plus but not required.

• A friendly, professional phone presence and a genuine people-first attitude.

• Strong attention to detail. You catch a missing signature before it becomes a problem.

• Organization and the ability to juggle phones, walk-ins, and paperwork without dropping the ball.

• Comfort with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Skills That Set You Up for Success

• Data entry and clean documentation habits.

• Familiarity with I-9 and new-hire compliance, or an eagerness to learn it.

• Experience with a CRM, ATS, or scheduling system.

• Basic payroll or timekeeping support.

• Interest in growing into a recruiting role.

• Teamwork with recruiters, branch staff, and leadership.
