Pitkin County Dry Goods opened its doors in 1969 after entrepreneur Don Fleisher recognized Aspen's need for a contemporary clothing store. In 1970 Don was joined by his younger brother David, who came to Aspen after a stint in a San Francisco knitting factory. David fell in love with the business, eventually taking over merchandising and managing the store. David met his wife, Aspen native Gina Berko, after she applied to PCDG for a summer job. Fast forward 56 years and PCDG still remains owned by David and Gina, with an exceptional staff of 20+ that help make what we do a reality.
