Junior Software Developer

Salary: $45,760 - 52,000 per year Requirements:

• A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or completion of a coding bootcamp, along with at least one year of practical experience
• At least 6 months of hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar, with evidence of real work
• Familiarity with a modern JavaScript frontend framework such as React, plus a Python or comparable backend
• Experience with Git and GitHub workflows, including branching, pull requests, and code review
• A self-directed approach with the ability to work from tickets independently and ask thoughtful questions when needed
• Preferred: DevOps or backend-oriented experience
• Preferred: Mobile development experience, native or React Native

• Ship production features into a live sprint cycle using Jira, standups, and code review
• Support the backend and DevOps side of our team
• Contribute to NailPoint, our internal platform covering time entry, payroll, fleet, HRIS, field checklists, bid pipeline, and compliance tracking
• Work on a real product used daily by about 100 people
• Use AI-augmented development tools as a normal part of the workflow

We are MTM, a construction company that began building our own software after finding that off-the-shelf tools did not fit the job. Our team is led by people with decades of experience in large-scale application development and solution architecture, and we place a strong emphasis on mentoring early-career developers. NailPoint is our internal platform and is already handling payroll, fleet, time entry, and bid pipeline across three states, with plans to bring it to other companies. We prefer candidates in central or eastern U.S. time zones. This is a remote-friendly role with a flexible schedule, a small high-trust team, and the opportunity to work on a live product with real users while contributing to a growing company that is expanding into federal contracts and new service lines.
