Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description

This role focuses on operating production machinery in a large, clean, and highly organized manufacturing facility. You will primarily run machines, support packaging activities, and move parts and boxes around the plant while adhering to strict safety, cleanliness, and operational standards. The position follows a standard Monday–Friday schedule on either a fixed day or night shift, with occasional extended 12-hour shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
• Monitor machines during operation to ensure consistent performance, promptly addressing basic issues and escalating concerns when necessary.
• Perform standard machine adjustments, setups, and basic troubleshooting to maintain smooth production flow.
• Handle packaging tasks, including packing products, organizing boxes, and preparing items for shipment or further processing.
• Move parts, materials, and boxes throughout the plant using appropriate methods while maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to clean room requirements.
• Comply with 5S3K principles by maintaining a meticulously clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
• Walk between buildings and across different areas of the facility as needed to support production operations.
• Adhere to production schedules and shift requirements, including occasional 12-hour shifts when business needs require extended coverage.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and continuously improve processes.

• At least 6 months of manufacturing experience, preferably in a production or machine operation environment.
• Consistent work history with a minimum tenure of 6 months at each previous job.
• Current or recent employment history without unemployment periods longer than 30 days.
• Experience performing general labor tasks such as material handling, packaging, and basic production support.
• Ability and willingness to work a fixed Monday–Friday schedule on either day shift (6:45 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) or night shift (4:45 p.m.–3:00 a.m.).
• Flexibility to work occasional 12-hour shifts, including earlier start times for day shift (4:45 a.m.) and extended hours for night shift (until 5:00 a.m.) when required.
• Comfort working in a clean room environment, including wearing full PPE, garb, and beard net if applicable.
• Physical ability to walk frequently across a large facility and move parts and boxes as part of daily duties.
• Strong adherence to safety, cleanliness, and organizational standards, including 5S3K practices.

• Previous experience as a machine operator or in a similar production role.
• Familiarity with 5S or other structured workplace organization and efficiency methodologies.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures in a controlled environment.
• Strong reliability and punctuality, with a consistent record of showing up for scheduled shifts.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing production needs and shift length requirements.

Work Environment

The role is based in an enormous, modern manufacturing facility where employees walk regularly between buildings and across different areas of the plant. The department operates as a clean room, requiring specific attire such as a clean room garb and a beard net if applicable. The environment is meticulously clean, temperature controlled, and very brightly lit, supporting both safety and comfort. The organization emphasizes 5S3K principles, maintaining a highly organized, efficient, and disciplined workspace. Standard shifts run Monday through Friday, with day shift from 6:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and night shift from 4:45 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., and occasional 12-hour shifts may be required, adjusting start and end times accordingly. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and must be worn consistently in line with safety and clean room standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, MI.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
