Painters Apprentice

The Royal Collision Center has two locations in Tucson, and we are always accepting applications from talented men or women. This candidate will have some experience prepping and painting vehicles. They will also be familiar with equipment used and the safety precautious when prepping and using the paint. Wearing a respirator in this work environment is required RESPONSIBILITIES Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely. Removes rust, grease and dirt from work surface. Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated. Mixes paint / primer / sealer according to specifications. Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color. Paints surface and or edges of vehicle parts using sprayer. Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags, and unpainted areas. Color sands and buffs away any imperfection in topcoat. Maintains tools and keeps equipment and work stall clean and in a proper state of repair. Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or GED Some auto body experience and/or tech school desired Must have a passion and aptitude for collision repair technologies Must have an impressive work ethic Neat, clean, and professional appearance Must have an unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record Must be able to operate a standard-transmission vehicle Company Description Royal Automotive Group believes in customer care that says, "You're Family."
