Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

The Position Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Head Women’s Basketball Coach, this position is responsible for assisting in all facets of our Women’s Basketball program, including basketball technique and tactics teaching/coaching, development of student‑athletes, and recruitment. This is a 10‑month, benefitted position. Key Responsibilities Assists the head coach in fostering the athletic development of student‑athletes, including individual, small‑group, and team skills training and tactics teaching/coaching. Supports the academic success of student‑athletes by meeting individually to ensure academic accountability, providing counsel on collegiate academic work, and acquainting them with on‑campus support services. Promotes the personal growth of student‑athletes by developing knowledge of student health support services and meeting them as needed. Executes an active college community relations program to positively promote the Women’s Basketball program and its athletes. Participates in efforts to recruit qualified student‑athletes. Carries out other duties assigned by the Head Women’s Basketball Coach or the Director of Athletics. Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Bachelor’s degree required. One to three years of intercollegiate participation or coaching experience at an NCAA‑sponsored institution. Serve as a mentor and role model for student‑athletes, promoting academic success and personal development. Knowledge of NCAA and ODAC rules, regulations, and commitment to compliance. Knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques associated with developing athletes. Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Excellent follow‑up and follow‑through skills and ability to plan, organize, and control projects to completion. Ability to handle and maintain confidential information. Maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Willingness and ability to work with all campus and associated constituencies in the recruitment of student athletes and performance of duties. Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and familiarity with computer systems including social media. Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends.
