Hydraulic Analysis Project Management Engineering Software Applications Quality Assurance Design Standards Position Overview The Engineer position requires 0–5 years of related experience and an accredited Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or General Engineering. The selected candidate will be responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power-related systems. This position will support estimate preparation, develop design options, prepare construction specifications, and provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages. Understand the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance. Understand engineering design practices and work processes. Utilize software applications used in engineering design. Understand industry and client design standards. Support the development of design standards and criteria for power-related systems. Support construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations. Estimate materials required for projects. Prepare and transmit construction packages and supporting specifications. Make independent decisions based on established procedures and review decisions with the supervisor as required. Build effective working relationships with plant staff, design engineering teams, and vendors. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program preferred. Preferred engineering disciplines include Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering. 0–5 years of related engineering experience. Introductory engineering knowledge and basic problem-solving skills. Ability to make independent decisions based on established procedures. Basic knowledge of discipline-specific engineering software. Strong work ethic and positive attitude. Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff, and vendors. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering plans. Intermediate proficiency in MS Office. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Preferred Qualifications Prior internship or co-op experience in an engineering field. Basic proficiency in CAD/GIS. Hydraulic analysis experience. This role may involve collaboration with engineering, construction, maintenance teams, plant staff, contractors, and vendors to support the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of power-related systems.
