job summary:
Substation Structural Design Engineer for a company that provides Transmission and Distribution products and services for the electrical power industry. Our client is located near Hoover, AL. Responsible for the design of transmission line/substation structures and foundations.

responsibilities:

• Design of transmission line/substation structures and foundations
  
  
• Required to interpret written client specifications and be able to assist in the preparation of Preliminary Designs and Proposals.
  
  
• Responsible for carrying out project management from onset of the contract through the delivery of the product or completion of the project
  
  
• Design of EHV, HV, and MV transmission structures using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE software

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis, or Electrical Engineering degree
  
  
• Must have at least two (2) years of civil/structure design experience
  
  
• Experience in substation structure design with STAAD or similar software
  
  
• E.I.T certification

Preferred:

• Registered PE License

• Background in electric power utilities from a consulting engineering firm

• Proficient with PLS-CADD/ PLS-Pole
