About the Role
The Company is in search of a Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for the Operations Portfolio. This executive leadership role is pivotal in providing strategic oversight and shaping policies and programs that enhance the well-being of the community. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating efforts across various city departments, with a focus on developing and implementing policies that improve service delivery and the quality of life for residents. Key duties include managing financial resources, securing funding, and ensuring that departments are meeting objectives and delivering high-quality services. The role demands a visionary strategist with a deep understanding of public administration and community engagement, and the ability to collaborate with state and federal agencies to advance service initiatives. Applicants for the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer position must have a Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred. A minimum of 10 years' of related experience, including significant management and supervisory experience, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading complex organizations, strong policy development and program management skills, and experience in managing large budgets and securing external funding. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities are essential, as is knowledge of municipal governance, social services, and community engagement best practices. The role is unclassified and works at the will of the appointing authority, and the candidate must be prepared to establish a principal residence within the city if not already a resident.
