Klamath County Fire District 1 (KCFD1) is currently accepting applications for the 2026-2027 candidate eligibility list EMT position. The eligibility list will remain in effect for 12 months, or until exhausted. This eligibility list will be utilized to fill open vacancies, as needed, in the next 12 months. KCFD1 is comprised of 69 line personnel who provide coverage through 4 fire stations. In 2025 our team responded to 9,346 calls for service. POSITION OVERVIEWThis position is responsible for carrying out the duties assigned by the supervising Company Officer. EMS personnel are required to work in strict compliance with all rules and regulations that govern Klamath County Fire District 1 (KCFD1). This position responds to call for basic and advanced life support emergency medical services, during day to day operations, and mass casualty and man-made/natural disasters; performs Inter-facility Transports including treatment to scope; provides EMS standby at events and incidents, provides non-emergency medical treatment according to Standing Orders; operates KCFD1 vehicles, specialized equipment, and tools; assists in routine maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of KCFD1 vehicles, equipment, facilities, and tools; and may be responsible for project work.Annual Salary with incentive: $50,735.52 - $55,590.12As a member of the KCFD1 team you will be eligible for excellent benefits: 100% Paid Medical Benefits (includes dependents)HRA VEBA Employer Contribution $1,401-$6,495 (annually)Flexible Spending AccountsSupplemental Accident/Hospital/CancerEmployer Paid Life/ AD&D Policy8 Sick days per year7 Vacation days per yearIn-House Peer TeamOregon PERS/ 457(b) Plan- employer pickup of required 6% employee contributionShort-Term and Long-Term DisabilityEducation ReimbursementSick leave sellbackQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEducationHigh School Diploma or GED.
