About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its Institute-wide financial planning and management. The CFO will be a key strategic partner, working closely with the Institute Leadership Team and the COO to assess financial health and recommend mission-aligned strategies. This role requires a professional with a strong background in financial planning and management, particularly in a large and complex, preferably healthcare and/or non-profit, organization. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial stewardship, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in asset protection and cybersecurity. Experience in socially responsible investing, and a deep understanding of the financial and healthcare needs of an aging population, are essential. Candidates for the CFO position at the company must share the Mercy values of respect, stewardship, integrity, hospitality, and compassion. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required, with a preference for a master's degree, MBA, or related advanced degree, and a CPA. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years' of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of leadership, project management, and financial oversight. Strong communication skills, the ability to work with diverse stakeholders, and a commitment to the mission of the organization are also necessary. The CFO will be expected to travel regularly to various locations and must be adept at building collaborative relationships and working in a consensus-driven environment.
