Description of Work This position is located at Avery/Mitchell Correctional Institution in Spruce Pine, North Carolina. Avery Mitchell Correctional Institution has been designated as a reentry facility and will direct programs to work toward the rehabilitation of offenders during their period of incarceration and prepare them for reentry into society and work as a Reentry team with a designated Probation Chief and Reentry Probation officer. The position will work under the direct supervision of the Reentry Programs Supervisor. About the Division of Institutions : The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.
