About the Role

The Company is in need of an Associate General Counsel with a focus on finance and investments. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice on a wide range of matters, including investment, finance, treasury, capital management, derivatives, and regulatory issues. This role involves leading legal documentation and negotiations for various financial arrangements, supporting derivatives and hedging activities, and advising on financing, credit facilities, and balance-sheet management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transactional, regulatory, drafting, and negotiation skills, and the ability to operate independently while advising senior stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. Applicants for this position should have a minimum of 5 years' of legal experience, with a focus on investments, asset management, finance, and/or insurance regulation. Experience in insurance or reinsurance, particularly in the life insurance sector, is strongly preferred. The role requires a candidate with a J.D. and active U.S. bar membership, and knowledge of statutory accounting for life insurers is a plus. The Associate General Counsel will be expected to partner with various teams on strategic initiatives and must be prepared to support regulatory filings, responses, disclosures, and rating-agency matters. The position is pivotal in the legal team, and the level of the role will be determined based on the candidate's experience.
