Our organization is excited to present a full-time opportunity for a Board-Certified Internal Medicine physician to take on the role of Assistant Medical Director for the Hospitalist Program at a hospital located in Rome, New York.

This leadership position combines clinical responsibilities with administrative tasks, working in close collaboration with the Medical Director, hospitalist team members, nursing staff, and non-clinical personnel to ensure coordinated care for all patients admitted to the facility.

The role typically requires 40-50 hours per week and provides an opportunity to shape the growth, efficiency, and quality of the program. This position is structured as 0.5 FTE for clinical duties and 0.5 FTE for administrative tasks, allowing for a blend of direct patient interaction and program leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In the capacity of Assistant Medical Director, the physician will support the Medical Director in several essential areas:

• Ensuring adherence to hospital policies, mission, and values by the hospitalist team
• Facilitating quality and performance improvement initiatives
• Engaging in staffing, scheduling, and patient census management
• Providing direct patient care as necessary
• Holding regular meetings with hospitalists and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
• Mentoring and guiding physicians on quality, communication, and professionalism
• Coordinating the onboarding and orientation process for new providers
• Participating in evaluations and annual performance reviews of hospitalist team members
• Encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration with the Emergency Department and other clinical areas
• Representing the program on hospital committees and quality improvement teams
• Assisting with recruitment and operational objectives, including budgeting and documentation oversight

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

Our organization offers a competitive salary and benefits package that includes:

• Annual salary range: $292K-325K, based on experience
• The stated salary reflects the initial range of total compensation and does not encompass productivity bonuses, quality and performance incentives, extra shift bonuses, and other forms of cash compensation relevant to the role. Additionally, providers generally receive a Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance and other benefits provided by their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is compliant with State law and may vary based on the aforementioned factors.
