Director of Human ResourcesBlue Sage Services is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Human Resources to lead and elevate our people operations across all divisions. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing HR strategies that align with our company's growth, culture, and operational goals.Location: Negotiable (Beaver, OK or Stillwater, OK) (with travel as needed) Department: Human Resources Reports To: VP of Talent & CultureThe Director of HR will serve as a key leader in driving workforce planning, talent development, compliance, employee relations, and organizational structure while reinforcing our core values and "Powered by People" culture. This position requires both high-level strategic thinking and the ability to execute day-to-day HR operations in a fast-paced, field-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & StrategyDevelop and execute HR strategies aligned with Blue Sage Services' growth objectives and operational needsPartner with executive leadership to support organizational structure, workforce planning, and long-term talent strategyLead and mentor HR and recruiting team members, ensuring accountability and performanceDrive initiatives that strengthen company culture, employee engagement, and retentionEmployee Relations & CultureServe as a trusted advisor to leadership on employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance managementPromote a positive, high-performance culture aligned with Blue Sage Services core valuesLead employee engagement initiatives, communication strategies, and cultural development effortsCompliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulationsOversee HR-related policies, procedures, and documentationPartner with Safety and Operations teams to support compliance across field and office personnelAssist with audits, reporting, and regulatory requirementsCompensation, Benefits & PerformanceOversee compensation structures, benefits programs, and employee incentive plansEnsure competitive and compliant pay practices across all rolesLead performance management processes, including evaluations, growth plans, and personnel actionsSupport career pathing and employee development initiativesHR Operations & SystemsOversee HR systems including onboarding, employee records, and performance tracking platforms (e.g., Paycom)Ensure efficient onboarding processes and alignment between HR and recruiting functionsMaintain accurate employee data and reporting metricsContinuously improve HR processes for scalability and efficiencyTraining & DevelopmentDevelop and implement training programs that support leadership development, field training, and complianceSupport initiatives such as leadership training, mentorship programs, and workforce developmentIdentify skill gaps and create development pathways across the organizationQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field5+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership rolesStrong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirementsProven experience managing HR functions in a fast-paced, operational environmentStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsPreferredExperience in construction, heavy civil, or similar field-based industries – Preferred but not requiredSHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification – Preferred but not requiredExperience with HRIS and recruiting platforms (e.g., Paycom or similar systems)Experience supporting multi-state operationsCore CompetenciesLeadership & AccountabilityStrategic Thinking & ExecutionCommunication & InfluenceOrganizational DevelopmentProblem Solving & Decision MakingIntegrity & ConfidentialityWork Environment & ExpectationsCombination of office and field support environmentRegular interaction with field personnel, leadership, and administrative teamsAbility to travel as needed to support operations and workforce needsMust maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and responsivenessWhy Blue Sage ServicesAt Blue Sage Services, we are Powered by People.
