Role Description The Transportation Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Searcy, AR, responsible for overseeing daily transportation operations and ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant freight movement. This role includes managing dispatch activities, optimizing routes and schedules, and coordinating with drivers and fleet maintenance to keep equipment utilization and performance high. The Transportation Manager collaborates closely with customers and internal teams to resolve service issues, maintain strong relationships, and meet delivery commitments. Responsibilities also include monitoring regulatory compliance, managing documentation, tracking key performance metrics, and identifying process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The role requires hands-on leadership, clear communication, and active problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Transportation Management and Fleet Management skills to oversee routing, dispatch, equipment utilization, and regulatory compliance. Candidates should possess solid Operations Management skills, including planning, scheduling, process improvement, and performance monitoring. Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills to build and maintain relationships, handle service issues, and support dedicated lanes and specialized freight needs. Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for collaborating with drivers, office staff, customers, and external partners. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices in trucking and logistics. Experience in a transportation, logistics, or trucking environment, preferably in a supervisory or management role. Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), dispatch software, and basic data analysis tools. High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field is beneficial.
