Estimating Assistant

Position Summary

The Estimating Assistant is responsible for performing administrative and clerical duties for the estimating team within the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Verify that drawings are maintained by the estimating coordinator are current, check Building Connected for the specific project that you are assisting on.
• Generate reports from Tekla for subcontractors, typically for erectors.
• Create emails for sending to customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Compose proposal letters, reports etc. that support estimating.
• Perform various administrative duties as needed including but not limited to paying office bills, purchasing supplies, etc.
• Assist estimator with bidding projects, data entry into PowerFab with category, sub-category & labor coding.
• Help estimator with comparing quotes from vendors to make sure scope is correct & covered.
• Maintaining Pre-Qualification Applications for all Customers as needed by sales team.
• Assist Estimating Coordinator as required.
• Other duties as determined by VP of Estimating.
• The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of two years' experience as an administrative assistant is required. Must be able to work with multiple managers. Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple asks with accuracy. Ability to effectively communicate with office, shop, subcontractors, and customers as required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Teams, Word, Outlook and Excel. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Should be able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Tekla experience is a plus.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and work directly on a computer in a high-pressure environment. Must be able to lift to 25 pounds occasionally. All the physical demands listed are essential functions.
