Platform Engineer

Position Summary The Platform Engineer owns platform work end-to-end within an assigned scope. This role operates with day-to-day autonomy over assigned platform components, partners with senior engineers on technical direction, and contributes to broader platform modernization initiatives.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Own assigned platform components, including design, implementation, and operations.Build cloud-based platform services using infrastructure-as-code workflows.Participate in design reviews and contribute to platform engineering standards and best practices.Partner with senior engineers on complex technical and architectural decisions.Diagnose and resolve production platform issues.Contribute to platform observability, CI/CD, reliability, and security-by-design.Document platform designs, processes, and operational runbooks.Required Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Equivalent professional experience may substitute for the degree requirement.Experience Minimum of three years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.Demonstrated production experience with Azure or a comparable cloud platform.Experience implementing infrastructure as code.Technical Skills Cloud platform engineering, including container orchestration, application hosting, and networking.Infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or comparable technologies.Platform observability, monitoring, and incident response.Production platform engineering and operational best practices.Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting platforms in a regulated industry.Relevant cloud certifications.Experience with on-premises-to-cloud migrations.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge Modern cloud-platform architecture.Infrastructure-as-code patterns.Production platform operations.Security and compliance fundamentals within regulated environments.Skills Designs and delivers production-ready platform components.Participates effectively in technical design discussions and reviews.Clearly documents platform behavior, processes, and operational runbooks.Abilities Owns platform components end-to-end with day-to-day autonomy.Operates effectively within an established platform team’s practices and delivery cadence.Continually builds platform engineering expertise through structured learning.Physical Requirements & Working Conditions This position is remote within the United States. Work is performed in a standard office or home-office environment and requires extended periods of computer-based work, including reading information on screens, typing, and participating in virtual meetings. Occasional travel of less than 5% may be required for company events.
