The NWI Nashville site currently has an opening for a Buyer position. This role is responsible for negotiating and purchasing machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for the overall operation of the organization. Responsibilities Include Negotiate and purchase machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, service and/or supplies necessary for manufacturing operations. Compile and analyze statistical data to determine purchase feasibility of as well as to establish price objectives. Monitor performance of suppliers. Compile information and track data to stay on top of pricing trends and manufacturing processes. Evaluate areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions. Analyzes supplier operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability and ability to meet required schedules. Review proposals, negotiate price, select or recommend suppliers, analyze trends, follow up on orders placed, verify delivery, approve payment and maintain necessary records. May prepare requests for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
