GIS Test Lead

PROLIM Global Corporation () is currently seeking GIS Test Lead for a position in San Francisco, CA with one of our top clients.

Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced GIS Test Lead to lead testing and quality assurance activities for GIS applications, spatial data platforms, mapping solutions, and geospatial integrations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute overall GIS testing strategies, test plans, and test scenarios.
• Lead functional, integration, system, regression, and UAT testing.
• Test GIS applications using ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, QGIS, or similar platforms.
• Validate spatial data accuracy, map layers, geodatabases, coordinate systems, projections, and geoprocessing workflows.
• Perform API, database, web application, and GIS integration testing.
• Create test cases, test reports, defect reports, and traceability documentation.
• Track and manage defects using JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or similar tools.
• Work closely with GIS developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for test automation and implement appropriate testing frameworks.
• Monitor testing metrics, risks, quality KPIs, and release readiness.
• Lead, mentor, and support QA/test engineers.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of experience in software testing and QA.
• 3+ years of experience testing GIS applications or geospatial solutions.
• Strong understanding of GIS concepts including spatial data, geodatabases, map services, projections, coordinate systems, and geoprocessing.
• Hands-on experience with ArcGIS, QGIS, PostGIS, GeoServer, or similar GIS technologies.
• Experience with API, database, and web application testing.
• Experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or API automation tools.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or similar defect management tools.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and test management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, GIS, Geography, Engineering, or a related field.
• GIS certification is a plus.
• Experience in utilities, telecommunications, government mapping, transportation, or environmental GIS projects.
