The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Grandville that are seeking skilled First Article Inspectors. Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of first article parts and assemblies against engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Utilize a wide range of precision measuring tools and equipment, including CMM, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
• Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, identifying and reporting non-conformances.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve discrepancies and improve product quality.
• Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and manufacturing process specifications.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
• Initiate and participate in root cause analysis for identified defects and implement corrective actions.
• Provide training and guidance to production personnel on quality standards and inspection techniques.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• 3+ years experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications (GD&T).
• Demonstrated ability to use a wide range of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
• Strong understanding of First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and AS9102 requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformances accurately.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with various inspection tools beyond standard metrology (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, X-ray).
• ASQ certification (e.g., CQI, CQT).
• Familiarity with GD&T principles and application.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
