General job duties and types of procedures required:
General surgical unit with surgical subspecialties of plastics reconstruction/flaps with neuro-vascular monitoring that includes limb re-attachment, deep wounds (including vac dressings), sacral flaps, free flaps, breast reconstruction and tram flaps; weight loss bariatric surgical patients, gyne-oncology and general surgery patients. Serve as alternate unit for trach and gyne surgical patients when designated units full. EWSS scores average 1 to 2.
Nursing care includes large dressings, use of specialty beds, medication administration, Tracheostomy mgt, drains, wound and oral suctioning, Vac pumps, IV fluid admin- IVAC, PCA & IV pain management, Capnography, Leeching, chest tubes, NG suctioning, keofed/GT tube feedings.
