Role: Server Captain Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager Who We Are Welcome to The Ned NoMad, a sophisticated members' club and hotel nestled in the heart of New York City. As the first international outpost of The Ned, we proudly opened our doors in Summer 2022, following the iconic debut of The Ned London in 2017. The Property Set in the historic Johnston Building, formerly the NoMad Hotel, our property boasts a rich legacy dating back to 1903. With design expertise from the Soho House Design team, we've lovingly preserved the building's original charm while infusing it with a fresh, contemporary style. At The Ned NoMad, we offer an eclectic mix of exclusive and public spaces, including 167 elegantly appointed bedrooms and suites, a lively rooftop bar and terrace restaurant, a first‑floor bar, restaurant, lounge, and nightly live entertainment. The Role We are on the lookout for a dynamic Server Captain to join our team and report directly to the Food & Beverage Managers. In this role, you'll thrive in our fast‑paced environment, juggling multiple tasks and projects with flair, efficiency, and independence. Main Duties Deliver exceptional guest service, ensuring a warm, welcoming, and efficient dining experience. Oversee designated section, managing server assignments, seating arrangements, and guest satisfaction. Maintain a deep knowledge of our extensive menu and beverage list, confidently answering guest inquiries and offering recommendations. Ensure all food and beverage services meet the highest quality standards and adhere to safety protocols. Motivate and mentor server staff, providing ongoing coaching and support to optimize their performance. Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, resolving issues to maintain guest satisfaction. Collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Maintain a clean and organized dining area, upholding the high standards of The Ned. Assist with opening and closing duties, including restocking supplies and equipment. Contribute to a positive and cohesive work environment, fostering teamwork and collaboration. Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a server in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and delegate tasks effectively. In-depth knowledge of fine dining service etiquette and protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests of diverse backgrounds. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple demands. Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment. A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to providing exceptional guest service. Physical Requirements Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands. Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours. Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others. Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 20 to 60 pounds. Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required. Must be able to use step ladder.
