NY State Department of Transportation– Transportation Construction Inspector 1 (Utica, NY)

Under the supervision of a Department of Transportation Engineer-In-Charge, a Transportation Construction Inspector will be physically assigned to one or more construction projects to perform the construction/materials inspection or inspection-related tasks. Tasks may include: Earthwork Inspection, Concrete Inspection, Structural Inspection, Drainage Inspection, Asphalt Pavement Inspection, Materials Inspection, Project support activities, and miscellaneous inspection assignments.

Required Qualifications: A. One construction season (minimum of 3 months) of work experience in highway or bridge construction inspection as described in the tasks and Duties above, or materials testing. OR B. Completion of at least 1 year (27 semester credit hours) of college course work as part of an Associate's Degree program in civil engineering, civil engineering technology, construction technology, engineering science or surveying technology.
