Sr. Accountant

Description Pilatus is hiring a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Broomfield, CO. In this role, you will be responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting within the company and to the Swiss parent company and back up to the Controller and Assistant Controller as needed. In addition, you will complete financial analysis reports, assisting with procedure maintenance, ensuring compliance with and/or coordinate implementation of accounting internal control procedures, maintenance of capital asset, budgets, forecasts and inventory records. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Prepares internal financial reports and financial statements for consolidation with the parent company Inputs financial information into parent company’s consolidation software Prepares journal entries and detailed analysis for aircraft and parts sales activities Closing schedules for month, quarter, and year end. Several Key reports include: Parts Margin Analysis, Margin Analysis – Sales_COGS, Monthly Report Key Figures, and Monthly Report Analyzes assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts on a monthly basis to make recommended adjustments. Governmental reporting as necessary, example the Monthly Census reporting on sales and inventory Review and support the Government and Direct Sales quotes and invoicing Property Tax Reporting schedule(s) as needed Works with HR to post payroll journal entries, runs ad hoc payroll reports as needed, and reconciles the HSA and other spend accounts as necessary Assists with the creation of sales orders and invoices for aircraft deliveries Maintains fixed asset accounting records and coordinates annual fixed asset inventory Assists in the annual audits and preparation of the corporate income tax returns Assists in preparing the annual financial budget and subsequent budget revisions Backs up the Controller in other duties, for example Cash Forecast, Aircraft Work Package closures, etc. Assists with monitoring of procedures and the internal control system Assist with the training of the business support apprentice Works with the parent company replying to queries and assisting both the Controller and Assistant Controller in responses to the parent company Other Duties/Responsibilities Assists with the processing of employee expense reports through 3rd party provider Deposits customer checks on a daily basis via desktop deposit Responds to employee questions on procedures Performs backup Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions Prepares and files sales and use tax returns on a monthly and quarterly basis Reconciles monthly bank account statements Responds to other projects as assigned by the Director Accounting / Controller and Assistant Controller Requirements Skills / Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration (accounting major) 5-10 years of accounting experience, including financial reporting and/or public accounting Solid understanding of manufacturing labor and overhead calculations Exposure to or direct experience with IFRS a plus Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task Good analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word) Experience with SAGE, SAGE Fixed Assets and other ERP software (Quantum) a plus Experience with multi-national companies a plus Dedicated, critical thinker, self-starter, able to work in stressful, complex and dynamic environments Efficient, pro‑active, self‑motivated and hard‑working Enjoy managing, training and development of other employees Working with diverse teams (spread out geographically) as well as working independently What We Offer 11 paid holidays a year, plus 15 days of paid vacation time, and 6 days of paid sick/personal time to start with an increase to 20 days of paid vacation time after 5 years with Pilatus 90% of medical, dental, and vision premiums paid for single coverage and 80% for family coverage, averaging $9,600 annually Monthly health savings account (HSA) contributions totaling $2,250 for single coverage and $3,000 for family coverage annually 401(k) retirement plan matching up to 6% Life and long-term disability insurance premiums paid in full Tuition assistance available annually after the first year The salary range for this position is $90,000 - 110,000 per year depending on experience. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
