Travel Pathology Assistant Job

Overview
Pathology Assistant — Pathology in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Travel assignment starting 11/02/2026 for 13 weeks. Pay range: $3,288 per week to $3,519 per week. Guaranteed hours: 40 per week. Shift: 8 hours. Work setting: hospital-based surgical pathology department.

Responsibilities
- Perform surgical specimen dissection across simple to complex cases and prepare material suitable for routine histology and other tests.
- Conduct frozen sections and maintain cryostats; obtain pathologist input for accurate gross analysis as appropriate.
- Dictate complete and accurate gross descriptions and ensure proper patient/sample identification on all specimens.
- Communicate effectively with pathologists and providers to report timely, accurate results in a professional manner.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and cleanliness of the gross cutting area; dispose of tissues and reagents per SOPs.
- Execute quality control and routine preventive maintenance, keep the gross bench procedure manual current, and monitor CAP compliance as applicable.

Requirements
- Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program.
- ASCP certification as Pathologists’ Assistant or ASCP-approved exam-ready status with certification prior to start date.
- Prior grossing experience preferred.
- Ability to perform surgical gross dissections and participate in departmental activities under supervision in an anatomic pathology setting.
- Strong attention to patient/sample identification, documentation, and professional communication.
