This role ensures compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations while fostering a culture where every employee returns home safely each day. The position partners with operations and executive leadership to reduce risk, improve safety performance, and build accountability across the organization.Essential ResponsibilitiesLeadershipDevelop and execute the Company's strategic safety program.Promote a proactive safety culture.Establish annual safety goals and KPIs.ComplianceEnsure OSHA, EPA, DOT, and regulatory compliance.Maintain safety policies and reporting.Field OperationsConduct jobsite inspections and audits.Assist project teams with safety planning.Incident ManagementLead investigations and corrective actions.Training & DevelopmentDeliver company-wide safety training and orientation.Fleet & EquipmentOversee PPE, vehicle safety, inspections.Risk Management & ReportingPartner with leadership, analyze trends, develop monthly scorecards.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree or equivalent experience.7+ years construction/commercial mechanical safety.3+ years leadership.PreferredCSP, CHST, OSHA 500, First Aid/CPR Instructor, DOT experience.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesLeadershipCoachingCommunicationConflict ResolutionProject ManagementRoot Cause AnalysisMicrosoft OfficePhysical RequirementsWalk active construction sites.Climb ladders.Lift up to 50 lbs.Wear required PPE.Performance ExpectationsReduce incidents.Improve safety participation.Complete audits on time.Maintain regulatory compliance.Core CompetenciesLeadershipAccountabilityIntegrityCommunicationContinuous ImprovementWorking ConditionsOffice, construction sites, mechanical rooms, rooftops, and outdoor environments.Reporting RelationshipsReports To: President or COODirect Reports: Safety Coordinators (future growth), Safety Committee MembersTravel RequirementsApproximately 50% travel throughout Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri.
