Registered Nurse Surgical Services

Job Summary The Registered Nurse on the Adult Surgical Unit is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients, including some pediatric cases, during night shifts. The role involves utilizing the nursing process, administering medications and treatments, developing individualized patient care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. This position requires strong clinical expertise, critical thinking, and adherence to nursing standards and state laws. Responsibilities Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques and policies. Document patient care and treatment accurately in compliance with standards of care. Develop and execute individualized patient care plans, including patient and family education. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient care and safety. Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities and shared governance. Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments as needed. Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and quality experience, escalating issues appropriately. Float to other units as required, including travel nurse assignments. Required Skills & Certifications Current Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin. Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification. Current CPR/BLS certification. Education verification completed. Minimum nursing experience as required by the facility (less than 1 year acceptable). Preferred Skills & Certifications Experience in adult surgical nursing and pediatric patient care. Prior experience working night shifts in a hospital setting. Familiarity with performance improvement and shared governance processes. Special Considerations Position requires every other weekend and holiday work. 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. May require floating to other units as a travel nurse. Work performed primarily on an Adult Surgical Unit with some pediatric patient beds. Scheduling Night shift schedule: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
