Location: Montebello, CA Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour Position Type: Contract-to-Hire

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support a busy accounting department in Montebello. The ideal candidate will have strong invoice processing experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approvals
• Perform 2-way and 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation
• Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers
• Research and resolve vendor inquiries, payment discrepancies, and invoice exceptions
• Reconcile vendor statements and assist with month-end AP reconciliations
• Prepare ACH, wire, and check payment batches for approval and processing
• Maintain vendor files, including W-9s, tax documentation, and payment information
• Monitor AP aging and assist with ensuring timely payment of outstanding obligations
• Support credit card and employee expense reimbursement processing
• Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and accounting teams to resolve issues and improve workflow efficiency

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, AP reconciliations, and payment procedures
• Experience with 2-way and 3-way matching preferred
• Knowledge of general ledger coding and account allocations
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, and formulas
• ERP or accounting software experience required
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-service-oriented approach
