Critical Facilities Field Service Engineer

Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Critical Facilities Field Service Engineer in Chicago, IL to ensure mission-critical building systems operate at peak performance for data centers and essential facilities.

Impact
- Maintain uptime for critical infrastructure supporting essential business operations
- Reduce emergency callouts through proactive maintenance and system optimization
- Strengthen client relationships through responsive, expert service delivery
- Identify system improvements that enhance reliability and energy efficiency

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building automation and critical power systems
- Troubleshoot control system issues including BAS, electrical, and mechanical equipment
- Respond to emergency service calls and resolve issues within established SLAs
- Document all service activities, findings, and recommendations in service reports
- Coordinate with facility managers and operations teams on scheduled maintenance windows
- Calibrate sensors, controllers, and end devices to maintain system accuracy
- Implement firmware updates and system patches following change management protocols
- Train facility staff on basic system operations and alarm response procedures

Requirements
Must-Haves
- 3+ years of experience servicing critical facility systems (data centers, hospitals, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of building automation systems (Niagara, Tridium, or similar platforms)
- Experience with electrical systems including UPS, generators, and switchgear
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites
- OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain within 90 days

Nice-to-Haves
- Niagara 4 certification or manufacturer-specific BAS certifications
- Experience with EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring Systems)
- Data center operations experience or CDCP certification
