About the Center

Tech24 is proudly led by former technicians with a heavy emphasis on quality of life for our technicians and doing the right thing for our customers. We are looking for experienced Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration Technicians in our Knoxville, TN market. Experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial hot kitchen equipment is preferred.

Position Summary

As part of the Tech24 team, the HVACR technician plays a critical role in minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring customers' operations run efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently while representing the company with professionalism and integrity. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment including walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, rooftop units, split systems, and exhaust/make-up air systems
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity
• Install, replace, and commission HVAC and refrigeration systems as needed
• Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company system
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding equipment issues, repair recommendations, and preventative maintenance plans
• Maintain EPA compliance and adhere to all local, state and federal safety regulations
• Manage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stocked
• Respond to emergency service calls in a timely and professional manner
• Represent the company with professionalism while delivering high-quality customer service
• Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration service (preferred)
• EPA Certification license required
• Experience working on commercial kitchen equipment is a plus
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical diagnostics, airflow systems, and mechanical troubleshooting
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions
• Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters
• Own industry standard hand tools (preferred)
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed

Compensation Transparency

The advertised pay range for this position is $35-$45 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, technical certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications. Candidates with advanced commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience, manufacture certifications, or specialized expertise may be considered at the higher end of the range.
