We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Assistant to join our team. The Behavior Assistant will play a crucial role in providing support and care to individuals with intellectual disabilities. This position requires experience working with patients with intellectual disabilities, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a Level 2 background screening. The ideal candidate should be committed to enhancing the quality of life for those we serve and helping them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with intellectual disabilities in their daily activities and routines.
- Implement behavior support plans as directed by a Behavior Analyst or supervisor.
- Provide one-on-one support to individuals as they work towards achieving their goals.
- Document and maintain accurate records of individuals' progress and behavioral data.
- Provide transportation to individuals to and from appointments or community outings (valid driver's license required).
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for individuals at all times.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, their families, and other team members.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
- Accurately track and report hours worked.
- Adhere to all company policies, ethical standards, and confidentiality guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus).
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts as needed.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to providing quality care.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team environment.
