Senior Human Resources Generalist Location: Simsbury, CT (EBAD) About the Company Ensign‑Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is a global leader in mission‑critical hardware and systems solutions, including precision energetics, explosive solutions, satellite/spacecraft manufacturing, and missile/aircraft launch vehicle capabilities. About the Role As a Senior Human Resources Generalist, you will balance daily HR execution with involvement in broader initiatives that support engagement, retention, and performance. This key role supports both employees and people leaders in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities HR Partnership: Independently support a client group of employees and people leaders, building strong relationships and serving as a reliable, approachable resource. Employee Support & Advocacy: Act as a primary point of contact for employees, providing guidance on HR policies, benefits, and workplace concerns. People Leader Coaching: Coach people leaders on daily leadership challenges, performance management, employee concerns, attendance issues, and team dynamics. Autonomous Execution: Own and manage HR matters from start to finish, including employee relations, performance issues, and day‑to‑day support. Performance Management: Support and reinforce performance expectations by guiding people leaders through goal setting, feedback, and accountability. Employee Relations: Handle employee relations matters including investigations, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans. Engagement & Retention: Support engagement initiatives, conduct stay interviews, and translate feedback into actionable improvements. Talent Acquisition Support: Participate in interviews and support hiring managers to ensure strong hiring decisions aligned with company values. Onboarding & Employee Experience: Help deliver a smooth onboarding experience and support employees throughout their lifecycle, including leaves of absence and benefits‑related questions. Offboarding & Exit Insights: Manage terminations and exit interviews, identifying trends and sharing feedback with HR leadership. HR Operations & Projects: Support HR processes and contribute to projects that improve efficiency, consistency, and the overall employee experience. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. 5–7 years of progressive HR experience with strong employee relations background. Demonstrated ability to support employees and coach people leaders. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities with minimal direction. Experience in a fast‑paced or manufacturing environment (aerospace/electronics a plus). Strong judgment and discretion in handling sensitive situations. Practical, solution‑oriented mindset balancing employee and business needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
