Staff Accountant

They are currently looking to expand their team by bringing on a Staff Accountant . Salary/Hourly Rate $60k - $65k Position Overview The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. This role works closely with internal departments to ensure accurate financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger. Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules. Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions for accuracy. Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests. Monitor and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or trends. Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting and finance-related matters. Required Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant 2 - 5 years of accounting experience. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently. Preferred Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks. Experience in month-end close and audit support. Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas). Experience in a multi-entity or fast-paced corporate environment. Familiarity with budgeting and financial analysis processes.
