CNC Setup Machinist

Job Description

HumanHire is working with one of the premier manufacturers on Long Island to find a CNC Setup Machinist who can join their team in Farmingdale! This organization is growing rather rapidly and is becoming a global brand in their industry.


In this role, the Machinist will set up and operate high-speed 5-axis CNC Lathe and Milling Machines. This person should know how to fully set up and operate!

• Flexible hours: choice between 7AM-330PM, 8AM-430PM, or 230PM - 11PM, Monday -Friday.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities

• Set up and run CNC lathes, milling machines, and related equipment to produce precision instrument mouthpieces.
• Read technical drawings and CAD models to make sure parts are cut to spec.
• Use Mastercam for CAM programming when a job calls for it.
• Verify dimensions on finished parts using bore gauges, micrometers, and calipers.
• Adjust machines and change tooling as needed to keep quality and output on track.
• Keep tooling and equipment in good working order, including routine maintenance.
• Troubleshoot problems on the floor and do manual machining when a job calls for it.
• Follow all safety protocols and keep a clean work area.
• Inspect finished parts before they move to assembly.

CNC Machinist Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience setting up and running 5-axis CNC lathes and milling machines.
• Experience with CAM programming, preferably Mastercam is a big plus!
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
• Comfortable with precision measuring tools like bore gauges, micrometers, and calipers.
• Working knowledge of tooling techniques and machining materials.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
