Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for adults and geriatrics on the MS/Tele unit, focusing on telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Perform phlebotomy and IV placement; manage peripheral IV therapy and line care
• Administer medications and treatments; monitor responses and document in the electronic health record (Epic)
• Recognize and respond to rapid response events and codes; participate in the rapid response and code teams
• Maintain equipment and patient safety, including bladder scanners, telemetry equipment, EKG machines, Lifepacks/defibrillators, oxygen therapy, and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Unit Secretary) and participate in discharge planning; float to MS, ED, ICU (stable) and acute brain injury (stable) as needed

Requirements

• Active New York RN license in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NIHSS certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience; charge experience preferred
• Epic experience required for submission; pre-start modules required
• Floating required to MS, ED, ICU (stable) and acute brain injury (stable)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Locals: candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
