IT Solutions Architect

Gerber Taylor is seeking a driven and intellectually curious individual to join our team as we build out our technology and data infrastructure. As our first dedicated technology resource, this is a ground-floor opportunity for someone who wants to own something meaningful at an early stage. You will work directly with senior leadership to build business solutions that are efficient, scalable, and reliable. What You'll Work On: The work spans three broad areas, each connected by a common philosophy: improve / adapt our infrastructure and processes to fully embrace the opportunities afforded by technology and AI. Data infrastructure and reporting — designing and building the data platforms (including data lakes and similar solutions) that underpin how we measure, report, and communicate investment results to our clients. Operational automation — identifying the workflows that consume disproportionate time and error-risk across our team, and building systems that handle them reliably without depending on any single person. AI integration — evaluating and deploying AI tools in a way that is genuinely useful, appropriately secure, and consistent with the trust our clients place in us. Who We're Looking For: Required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, information systems, engineering, or a related technical field. 3–6 years of professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, or a closely related technical role. Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with cloud platforms, APIs, and workflow automation. A track record of delivering complete projects independently — from concept through production. The communication skills to translate technical decisions into plain language for business stakeholders. An understanding of data security principles as they apply to sensitive financial information — access controls, encryption at rest and in transit, audit logging, and the discipline to apply these consistently in systems you build. Preferred: Experience in financial services, wealth management, fintech, or another regulated industry. Familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to investment advisers — including Reg S‑P data privacy obligations and SEC cybersecurity expectations for registered firms. Experience evaluating build vs. buy decisions and managing technology vendor relationships. Exposure to AI‑assisted development tools and the governance considerations they introduce. A stable, long‑tenured, and independently owned firm with genuine institutional depth across hedge funds and private equity.
