Agency Website Recruitment Type General Public - G Job Duties Virginia’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is looking for a service‑oriented professional to work as a Customer Service Technician at the Chesapeake Customer Service Center. If you possess strong customer service and problem‑solving skills, a willingness to learn, and desire career growth, we would like to talk with you. The selected applicants will handle various customer transactions, including communicating policies, procedures, and regulations; issuing IDs; processing applications; administering vision, driver, and in‑car road tests; and processing vehicle registrations and titling, tax collection, and other DMV related services. Training will be provided to ensure your success. Minimum Qualifications Customer service experience; proficiency with personal computers, computer information systems, and databases that support service operations; mathematics and basic accounting practices, including reconciliations; ability to interpret, explain, and apply complex statutes such as the Motor Vehicle Code and other laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; adaptability to frequent statute and policy changes; analytical skills for reviewing records, files, and documents; proven ability to work well under pressure during peak workload periods; teamwork and cooperative communication skills with staff and a diverse customer population; and completion of required employee training. Must be able to work Monday–Saturday with varied hours. Preferred experience with the Privacy Protection Act and DMV policies and procedures related to CSC operations.
