Retirement & Wealth - Sr. Product Designer (Remote)

Job DescriptionThe Senior Product Designer will report to the Sr. Manager, Digital Design and play a key role in shaping the user experience across Inspira's Retirement & Wealth digital products. This individual will leverage UX research, user-centered design principles, and modern design practices—including AI-assisted tools and workflows when appropriate—to create intuitive, engaging experiences that meet both customer needs and business goals.The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on designer who can translate complex business problems into simple, elegant user experiences. You will take ideas from concept to execution, influence product direction through design-led discovery, and advocate for exceptional user experiences across cross-functional teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead product design initiatives from discovery through delivery, applying user-centered design principles and strategic design thinking throughout the process.Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Content Design, QA, and business stakeholders to understand user needs, shape business objectives, and improve design-development handoff practices.Conduct and incorporate user research, feedback, and data insights into design decisions; champion discovery practices that reduce downstream rework.Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate product concepts and solutions.Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to accelerate ideation, prototyping, and design execution while maintaining craft quality and human-centered judgment.Collaborate within Agile development environments, including Design Sprints and Scrum teams.Ensure a consistent and cohesive user experience across products while maintaining alignment with company branding standards.Evolve and maintain scalable design systems, component libraries, and documentation in Storybook (or equivalent) that drive consistency, efficiency, and clear design-to-dev translation across the product portfolio.Perform other duties as assigned.Typical schedule for this position is 8 a.m. CT to 5 p.m. CT. Occasional travel for onsite department meetings and collaboration events.Job RequirementsEducationBachelor's degree in UX/UI Design, Graphic Design, Interactive Media, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Experience5-7 years of professional experience in Product Design, UX Design, UI Design, or a related discipline.Demonstrated experience designing digital products and experiences using user-centered design methodologies.Experience conducting and synthesizing user research and usability testing sessions with customers and internal stakeholders.Experience working with or contributing to scalable design systems, component libraries, and design-to-development workflows (e.g., Storybook, Figma libraries, design tokens).Familiarity with leveraging AI design tools to improve design velocity and exploration.Skills & ExpertiseAdvanced proficiency with Figma, including prototyping, auto-layout, and component architecture.Ability to translate complex problems into simple, intuitive user experiences.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic, systems-thinking mindset.Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills; able to tell compelling stories that influence roadmap and build credibility across cross-functional teams.Demonstrated ability to plan and execute usability tests, synthesize findings into actionable recommendations, and socialize results with stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Engineering, Content, and QA partners—influencing outcomes without direct authority.Passion for design excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation.What Success Looks LikeDelivers thoughtful, user-centric designs that improve customer experiences and business outcomes.Balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution and attention to detail.Collaborates effectively across Product, Engineering, Content, and QA— improving processes, not just outputs.Actively contributes to evolving the design system and raises the bar for design-dev consistency.Identifies opportunities to use AI and automation responsibly to improve team velocity without sacrificing quality.Influences roadmap priorities and product decisions through clear design storytelling and evidence-based recommendations.Job DetailsJob Type: Full-timeCategory: ProductSalaried: Salaried
