Plant Maintenance MechanicMeadow Gold has an immediate job opening for a skilled Plant Maintenance Mechanic, responsible for the care and maintenance of all property and production assets. This position ensures the continued operation of machinery and equipment in an electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, pneumatic and hydraulic capacity by completing planned and unplanned maintenance requirements on production, packaging, processing equipment and utility systems.Schedule: Mon - Fri, 1:00pm - 9:00pmRate of pay is $30.24-$32.50. Rate is determined by applicable experience, skills, and certifications.General PurposeDemonstrate full proficiency in maintenance/mechanical activities to ensure that all equipment is operating effectively and efficiently. Perform general maintenance, preventative maintenance, over-hauls, modification, fabrication, welding, and/or mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair. Work with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused on complex and/or new assignments. Act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Perform maintenance and/or repairs (planned, unplanned, emergency) on production, processing, and packaging equipment as well as utility related equipment or systems, following all safety proceduresPerform preventative maintenance; perform routine inspections of equipment for assessment of reliability and performanceRead, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and serviceSupport the installation of new equipmentAssist operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtimeComplete work orders in a timely manner, while maintaining high quality standardsUse a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing dutiesMaintain communication with other departments, management, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of productionEnsure all repairs are documented. Complete all paperwork clearly, legibly, and accurately with required information. Document all required information in accordance with standard operations proceduresStay up to date on new products, equipment, technology and techniquesUtilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processesExhibit the ability to anticipate parts requirements for the tasks, follow proper purchasing procedures, and acquire parts ahead of anticipated task performanceMaintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issuesFollow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirementsThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as requiredBenefits:Union pension planCompetitive payPaid vacation and holidays*Career growth opportunities – we promote from within!Comprehensive healthcare benefits through the unionService recognition and employee rewards*Employee referral programUniforms providedEducation and Experience:High school diploma or GED preferredOne year of experience required in a maintenance role within a food or beverage manufacturing facility.Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks.Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferredMinimum one year experience with one or more technical experiences: Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC and/or HVAC.Minimum one year experience with a variety of equipment including lubricating, cleaning, material handling, motor control, relay control, process control and packaging equipment.Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.Must be able to handle basic hand tools.Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend required for virtually the entire shift; occasionally required to climb or balance.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.Must be able to work in a cold, wet environment with moderate to high noise volume.May experience some exposure to fumes airborne particles, chemicals or allergens.Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holiday.An Equal Opportunity Employer
